Christopher W. Dempsey, Esq.
Christopher W. Dempsey, principal of Dempsey Law PLLC, served more than a decade with the Office of Immigration Litigation at the U.S. Department of Justice in Washington, D.C., retiring in 2018 as Chief of the National Security and Affirmative Litigation Unit. In that role, he supervised national security and immigration litigation nationwide, trained Department attorneys and law enforcement personnel across the country, and oversaw complex federal litigation in district courts and courts of appeal. A former U.S. Army Judge Advocate and combat Veteran of Operation Enduring Freedom, Mr. Dempsey has appeared in dozens of federal courts nationwide and is routinely sought out for his expertise in complex immigration and federal litigation matters. He serves as an Executive Director and Chair of the Litigation & Collective Advocacy Committee for the Central Florida Chapter of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (“AILA”), is an officer on the Board of the Federal Bar Association’s Immigration Law Section, and co-founded the Consular Accountability Project. Mr. Dempsey also devotes substantial time to Veteran and humanitarian causes, including assisting disabled Veterans and helping Afghan allies and their families seek refuge and safety through several national and international nonprofit organizations.
